Coadvised by Dr. Silva and Amanda Gevens, Tina’s project focuses on the management of tomato late blight in an organic system. Her research interests include evaluating how strains of the late blight pathogen, Phytophthora infestans, are becoming resistant to copper fungicides, as well as the impacts that copper-based fungicides have on the soil, environment, and microorganisms. Another area of interest is the use of biopesticides in managing late blight, specifically their efficacy, mode of action, and implementation in a management program.
